Program Notes:
Haru (春) is a duet for guitar and marimba - or as I like to call 'Guirimba' - and is meant to reflect the joys of nature often associated with the early days of spring. The title 'Haru' simply means 'Spring' in Japanese, and it is a personal homage to the musician Ichiko Aoba, whose music and the themes of climate activism surrounding her works deeply inspired this piece. Haru was written in 2023.
